Statement

The act of painting is like praying. A conversation with the divine, the holy, with our inner self. The transcendence from one state to the other. A quest. I wonder what are we searching for. Which is the path to follow? we are in search of the truth. Rothko said: “We don’t paint for drawing students or historians, we paint for human beings”. Through the art of painting the body awakens. It labors vigorously so it can rise and be worthy to stand across the “image”. The mind silences. Such a difficult thing, especially in our days. The mind gives its place to the gaze of the eyes, sometimes is calm and sometimes it explodes bringing light to the “dark” illusion that surrounds us. It’s a birth and birth means life.
